Painting Alkander

Howdy!

Recently, I had a really incredible opportunity: The Dungeon Coach asked me to paint his hero copies of Alkander, the star of his Kickstarter book - Alkander’s Almanac of All Things. It took a while to get the entire creature painted but I’m really excited to show off the final product. I’m thrilled with how it turned out.

The mini set included Scramax the Battlemage and Scramax on Ornithaax the Majestic from Artisan Guild so there was a lot of really great detail to work with here. The Dungeon Coach (DC) loves purple so, of course, it’s a purple dragon with Alkander the purple dragonborn. I did end up doing some of the particular detailing off-camera. I struggle enough with tiny work as it is but I didn’t want to risk anything while keeping it in-frame and in-focus of the camera. I was lucky enough to be able to arrange an in-person handoff during all of the holiday travel. It was really fantastic to see DC’s reaction.
